Founded in 1973, Chateau St. Jean was conceived as a true fine wine estate in the European style, where wines from individual vineyards were kept separate to fully capture individual character of each site. The wines received immediate critical acclaim, and Chateau St. Jean was soon recognized as a leader in single vineyard designated wines.

Chateau St. Jean Wines
On the palate this wine shows soft, supple tannins with flavors of blackberry, boysenberry and vanilla, complemented by hints of clove, black peppercorn and tobacco. Balanced by its acidity, polished tannins and exotic oak, the wine shows a beautiful juxtaposition with contrasting flavors that work well to deliver a long and lingering finish.
Ripe fruit takes the driver's seat in this wine. All of the rich fruit is complemented by dark chocolate and toffee, and the structure of the wine is rounded out with finely integrated French oak tannins. Drinking well now, try the wine decanted and see how quickly the fruit profile grows, given a little time and oxygen.
Our 2016 Chateau St. Jean Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is full bodied wine with well-structured tannins. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, cassis and toffee are complimented by rich flavors of blackberry, black cherry and dark chocolate. Thanks to the youthful tannins on the finish, this wine will continue to age gracefully for 7-10 years.
The nose offers layers of complex aromas including black currant, chocolate covered Bing cherry, wild mountain blackberry fruit, cassis and a soft sweet earth note.
