Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
An exceptional vintage, the 2018 season started with a cool spring that delayed flowering but fruit set was fine and even. With few exceptions, Summer was moderate, sunny and dry without major heat spikes. The mild weather extended through the fall.
Vineyard Notes
Rancho Salina, Mountain Terraces, Louvau, and Vadasz all play a significant part in the creation of this vintage of Cinq Cépages. In addition, all of the Malbec in this vintage is from the Chateau St. Jean Estate Vineyard located in the heart of Sonoma Valley.
Winemaker Notes
Cinq Cépages is the flagship wine of Chateau St. Jean. Each year, Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren selects fruit from outstanding and proven Bordeaux varietal vineyards to craft a wine that showcases the very best of Sonoma County.
